Project: Long Son LNG
The Long Son LNG Power Center project, phase 1, has been approved by the Prime Minister and added to the adjusted power plan VII.
In which, the organization of bidding to select investors is assigned to the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. According to the plan, Long Son LNG Power Center is built according to a 3-phase roadmap, including:
- Long Son gas thermal power plant was built in Long Son commune, Vung Tau city with an area of about 132 hectares, with a total capacity of about 3,600-4,500 M.
- A key port for importing LNG with a capacity of 3.5-4.4 million tons/year
In which, phase 1 has a capacity of 1,200 - 1,500MW, operation schedule is 2025 - 2026. In addition to phase 1, which has been approved and added to the adjusted power planning VII, the next phases will be based on Electricity planning VIII. At the end of October 2021, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province sent a document No. 16191/UBND-VP proposing the Prime Minister to reduce the area of Long Son Petroleum Industrial Park from 850 ha to 652 ha.
In which, the Long Son Power Center project has a scale of nearly 199.5 hectares, with about 109 hectares located within the boundary of the Industrial Park. In addition to Long Son Power Center, over the past time, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has also approved the location to study a number of other projects to serve socio-economic development, especially calling for investment. investment in key projects. After being approved, the reduction of the area of Long Son Petroleum Industrial Park will "pave the way" for the implementation of secondary projects, including the Long Son Power Center phase 1.
